Competitive intelligence for tour operators

Know what your competitors booked yesterday.

Their booking calendar shows the public how many spots are left on every departure. We check it about every hour and turn the drawdown into estimated seats, bookings, revenue and sellouts.

We read their next week of departures from the public booking calendar their website already shows everyone — FareHarbor, Peek Pro, Rezdy, Checkfront, Bökun and five more.

You publish your availability. So do they.

Right now you set prices, add departures, and run promotions on gut feel — while your competitor's booking widget quietly broadcasts their sales to anyone who watches it closely enough. Nobody watches it closely enough. That's the edge.

Stop guessing at pricing

See the per-seat prices they publish and what appears to sell at those prices — so your next price change is a decision, not a coin flip.

Schedule where the demand is

Their sold-out 10 AM departure is your open seat. Spot the times and dates they can't serve, and be the alternative.

Know if it's you or the market

Slow week? If they're slow too, it's the market. If they're filling seats while you aren't, you know exactly where to look.

Up and running in one sweep

  1. Add your own company first — free. Prove it's yours with a one-line code on your website, and we track it at no charge, forever. Compare our numbers with your real books: that's the accuracy you can expect everywhere else.
  2. Paste a competitor's website. We detect their booking platform automatically and confirm we can track them — before you're charged anything.
  3. We watch the calendars hourly through the day. Every departure they sell, every remaining spot, recorded hourly 5 AM–9 PM Pacific — with a full sweep of the next twelve days every three hours, around the clock.
  4. Bookings appear in your dashboard. The drawdown between checks becomes estimated seats sold, priced against their own published rates. How it works.

Don't take our word for the accuracy. Audit it.

Track your own company free, forever — and check us against your real books.

Every other intelligence tool asks you to trust a black box. We'd rather you test it: add your own business (free, no card), verify it with a one-line code on your website, and watch us reconstruct your bookings from the outside. When our numbers line up with your reservation system, you'll know how much to trust what we show you about competitors. On our own books the estimate ran 1.8 seats/day off, with the 16-day total within 2.4% — every day of that audit is published.

Your data stays yours. Your own company's view is private to your account — we never share it, never use it to seed anyone else's dashboard, and never tell anyone you use bookingcomp.

Built by operators, not analysts

We run tour companies in the Columbia River Gorge — a waterfall shuttle, a kayak outfitter, an e-bike shop. bookingcomp exists because we wanted these numbers for ourselves. Now the first thing we do every morning is check what the competition booked overnight, before setting staffing, pricing, and which departures to add. Then we graded it against our own reservation system so we could publish the accuracy instead of asking you to trust us.

Questions operators ask us

Is this legal?

We only read what a booking widget shows any member of the public: how many spots are left, and the advertised prices. We never log in to anything, never hold a seat, and never see customer data. It's the same information you'd get clicking through their booking page yourself — we just do it systematically, about every hour, and label everything we infer from it as an estimate. The full method is on the methodology page. If you're an operator who'd rather not be included, use Remove my business and we'll confirm and exclude you within 24 hours.

Will my competitors know I'm tracking them?

Your dashboard is private to your account, and we never disclose who tracks whom. Our checks are ordinary public requests to a booking calendar, identified honestly as bookingcomp. Be aware that we do publish estimates about named operators in one place — the preview pages we send when introducing the product to a new operator — and any operator can opt out of everything at /remove.

Is tracking my own company really free?

Yes — free forever, no card required. Add your business, prove it's yours by placing a one-line code on your website, and we track it like any competitor. It exists so you can audit our accuracy against your real books before paying for anything. It's also private: we never share your own company's view, never use it to seed anyone else's dashboard, and never tell anyone you use bookingcomp.

Which booking platforms are supported?

Ten: FareHarbor, Peek Pro, Rezdy, Checkfront, Bökun, TripWorks, Xola, Resmark, Ventrata and Regiondo — together covering the large majority of tour and activity operators. When you add a competitor we tell you immediately which platform they use, and you're never charged for one we can't track.

How accurate are the numbers, really?

We measured it on our own e-bike business over 16 days against the real reservation system: an average error of 1.8 seats per day, with the 16-day total within 2.4% — every day is published. Publicly we claim “within about 10%” to leave room for operators unlike ours. Discounts and comps are invisible to us, so single-day dollar totals are indicative rather than precise, and every date shows its own confidence level so you know how much weight to put on it. Better yet, don't take the claim at face value: track your own company free and grade us yourself.

Do you offer annual billing?

Yes — $199/year per competitor, about 43% off the monthly run-rate. Pick monthly or annual at signup; you can change it later from the billing portal.

Why is a card required for the free trial?

So tracking continues without a gap when the trial ends — history is only valuable if it's unbroken. Cancel any time during the 14 days and you're never charged a cent. (Tracking your own company never requires a card at all.)

What happens if I cancel?

Sweeps stop at the end of your billing period, but the history already collected stays in your account — and your own company keeps tracking free. Resubscribe later and you pick up where the calendar left off; we just can't backfill the days nobody was watching.

How fast do I see data?

Your first availability readings appear within a few hours of adding a competitor. Booking reconstruction starts once there are two readings to compare, so estimated seats show up from the first day, and the picture sharpens every day after as history accumulates.

Their next two weeks are already on the calendar.

Every day you wait is a day of competitor booking history you'll never get back — we can only record what we watch. Start the tape today.
